You may already be a fan of exercise, or someone who wants to get fit but you’re simply not sure how to get started. Or maybe you think your life is just too busy and you simply “can’t find the time” to get in regular workout sessions through the week. The truth is, no matter who you are, there is always time for taking care of yourself. The only way you get around in this world is with your body, so it only makes sense to treat it right. Once you learn more about the benefits of exercise, it becomes pretty clear to see why you should make it a priority in your life.
You Feel Like a Million Bucks
Money can buy a lot of things, including that gorgeous Burberry bag you’ve had your eye on for the last month, or that luxury trip to Ibiza, but it can’t buy happiness. No matter how you spend it, money can’t make you feel healthy and glowing from the inside out, give you energy and eagerness to start your day, or help you decrease your risk of serious health issues including high blood pressure and obesity. By fitting in time each day to move your body and stay active, literally within seconds you will feel a difference. That’s right, seconds.
Even before you’ve completed the first minute of physical activity, your heart starts beating faster, blood is delivered to your muscles and you feel more energetic and awake. These are literally instant benefits of exercise, but the long-term effects are even more significant.
As you continue with your workouts – strive to include regular sessions of both cardio and strength-training exercise into your weekly workouts – you lose fat and gain lean muscle mass. Your muscular endurance increases, or in other words, you’re becoming stronger than you were before. Your risk of coronary heart disease and stroke, colon cancer, diabetes and breast cancer are significantly lowered, and this is only the start. It seems pretty ridiculous to NOT make exercise a major part of your life when you see all the good it does for you.
You Have More Energy for Everything Else
The average person is busy. That’s just the way life is. Whether you’re a stay-at-home mom who is keeping up with the miraculous task of raising children, or you’re a working professional with clients and a pile of paperwork to worry about each day – hey, in some cases, it’s both – life can definitely bring its trials and tribulations, leaving you feeling stressed and exhausted.
Fitting even just a 15- to 30-minute workout into your day makes a huge difference in the way you feel. You may be struggling just to keep your eyes open and you think that putting in the effort to exercise would only make it worse, but that’s actually not the case. Experts have actually proven that exercise helps combat stress and fatigue, so skip those energy drinks and caffeine pills that are doing nothing but causing harm to your body, and use something natural and actually effective instead. Makes sense, right?
Exercise is Fun
Yes, you heard me right. It’s fun. We all love doing things that are fun, and even if exercise isn’t something you’ve really thought about before, it’s worth taking the time to now. Exercise is a lot of fun, especially if you regularly change up your workout. Not only does this keep you interested and prevent boredom from a repetitive routine, it also ensures you continue challenging your body, so you’re constantly seeing results, continually getting stronger and improving your health.
You Make a Difference in the Lives of Others
You might not realize it, but positive things you do in your own life can make a huge difference in the lives of others. You may have a friend or family member who has been on the fence about making changes in their own life, wanting to get in shape and feel better about themselves but they didn’t know how to get started. When you take that next step it may be all they need to do the same. Better yet, get involved with someone you know who wants to start making these sorts of changes for the better in their life, and do it together. It’s great to have a workout buddy, someone to help keep you motivated and someone you can share the experience with.
You Look Damn Good
There are many important benefits of exercise, but let’s face it, one of the advantages you can’t forget about is the improvement exercise makes to your body. Of course your health is most important, but it certainly doesn’t hurt that along with all these other benefits you also get a smokin’ hot body. We all have different body shapes, but it’s important to realize that with the right exercise plan, you can sculpt your body how you want it and feel more self-confident than ever before. Whether you want to get ripped or just build a bit of muscle and focus on staying lean, it’s always important to feel good about yourself and devoting yourself to regular exercise is the best way to do this.
If these reasons alone don’t make you want to get off your butt and start exercising, then I’m not sure what to tell you. There are literally no downfalls that come from getting yourself in better shape. Just remember, you only live life once, so make the most of it. You have one body to take you through this lifetime, so take care of it. It really doesn’t require a lot of time or effort to fit exercise into your life, and it’s more than worth it. Regular exercise will give you more energy and determination, allowing you to have better focus on your life overall and help you get what you want out of life.
