The Best in Blenders: Vitamix Blenders

vitamixWhen you’re spending money on something, of course you want to get the very best, so you know you’re spending your hard-earned money wisely. This is especially true when you’re investing money on something you plan to use on a regular basis, such as a yoga mat or, in this case, a blender.

I love both blending and juicing, but I tend to use my blender much more often. There are a few key reasons for this, but mainly it’s because you’re missing out on most of the fibre when you’re juicing, whereas you’re getting all of the nutritional value through blending. When you don’t have all the fibre there, it can be beneficial, especially for people with a sensitive digestive system, because it prevents your body from having to process all that fibre. However, fibre is important and the blending process itself does break the fibre apart, making it easier for your body to digest anyway. Fibre also makes you feel fuller longer, so you don’t feel hungry as soon after.

For blending, you need to get yourself a blender. My favourite things to make with my blender are healthy shakes and smoothies. These are an important addition to any diet, because they’re packed full of fresh, healthful ingredients. You get the nutrition you need, in a more convenient way, instead of having to sit and eat all that food separately. The same goes for soups and other delicious dishes you can whip up with ease when you have a high quality blender at home.

The Vitamix blenders offer a ton of fantastic features. Even the most basic model allows you to chop, cream, blend, cook, grind, knead, churn, and more, all with a single machine. Not just that, but they do it all really, really, really well. If you love whole foods and enjoy healthy eating like I do, you’ve likely gone through more than your share of blenders too. Most, by the way, which didn’t even work properly to start with, especially with hard pieces like ice, carrots and celery. Some end up cracked or bent, and even with a warranty, which is nice and all, it’s still a major pain having to send back parts whenever something busts on your blender. Not to mention having to live blender-less for a few weeks in the meantime. (Insert tears here).

You don’t have to worry about any of that with the Vitamix blenders because they are manufactured to the highest quality standards and will stand up to the wear and tear you put them through. High-powered and packed with features, these blenders will even crush ice in just a matter of seconds, so you know your smoothies and shakes won’t be left with any of those little bumps and chunks after blending. They are super efficient and easy to use, and you can feel confident spending your money because it’s actually an investment and won’t just be going to waste.

These blenders are more expensive initially than the majority of blenders out there, but you have to consider that you’re making an important investment for your kitchen, and most importantly, your health. Without a premium blender, enzymes and nutrients in your fruits and vegetables can be destroyed, preventing you from getting the maximum nutritional value. The Vitamix blenders are truly the best out there in my opinion, because they work superiorly and they will last longer, so in the long run you’re actually saving your money by not having to replace your blender all the time. They get the job done and make preparing smoothies, shakes, hot soups, frozen desserts and other beverages and foods quick and easy.

With a wide range of blenders, packages and other products to pick from, you can find what works for your needs and budget. Think about it this way – if you can afford to buy yourself the new iPhone every time it comes out, or spend a couple hundred during that sale at your favourite clothing store, you can afford to get a top notch blender that is going to completely help out in the kitchen and help you live your healthiest life.

You can usually find a decent selection of Vitamix blenders through large local retailers like Costco and Canadian Tire, but you can also shop directly through the Vitamix manufacturer by visiting their website here. I can’t say enough about my Vitamix blenders, and everyone I’ve talked to (and I mean EVERYONE) who has tried one has nothing but rave things to say about it. Have you tried a Vitamix blender? What is your favourite blender for using in the kitchen?

I bought a refurbished Vitamix last year and am loving it! It’s the best kitchen tool I’ve ever owned.

I’ve been thinking about upgrading to a Vitamix 7500, which is a bit quieter, but they are worth every penny.
